The Biggest Change of All

There have been many changes in the last 18 months, none of which were expected or especially welcome at the time. But in the end, the most pressing and real change occurred in early March, when I was recalled to Active Duty in the Navy for 365 days. Of those 12 months, 10 of them will be spent supporting Village Stability Operations (VSO) in Afghanistan. This blog hopes to take you along for the ride.

I'm sure the posts will range across a number of important subjects, answering serious questions about the history & future of Afghanistan, America's foreign involvement AND pressing questions such as "What is a Naval Officer doing in a landlocked country?" and "Why are blankets called 'afghans'?" If you have other crucial questions that need to be answered, feel free to send them my way.
