Most of the trees around here are covered in SPANISH MOSS, Tillandsia usnoeoides; some of the locals refer to it as "Old Man's Beard". I know I am getting a little geeky here, but did you know it's part of the pineapple family?

"Filatore" was originally created as a way to track the adventures of an Italian deployment back in 2006 (Filatore=Spinner in Italian). Since then, it's morphed a few times, and after a period of relative dormancy, will document our urban existence over the next year.
